THE WHAT? Walgreens has announced personnel changes to its Retail Products and Customer leadership team, with Linh Peters named as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer; Luke Rauch, Senior Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer; and Bala Visalatha, Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer.

THE DETAILS The leaders will start their new roles this month.

As CMO, Peters will oversee the vision, strategic direction and performance of Walgreens marketing activities, including marketing collaboration, brand design, brand positioning and marketing plan execution.

Rauch will be responsible for the vision, leadership, strategic direction and performance of all Walgreens merchandising activities, while Visalatha is joining Walgreens in a newly created role of Chief Product Officer.

In this position he will he lead the execution of Walgreens customer product strategy and development, along with user experience.

THE WHY? Tracey Brown, President of retail products and Chief Customer Officer, Walgreen, praised the new leadership team member’s collective decades of retail experience. 

She said, “As strong innovators in their own right, each have an excellent track record when it comes to successfully identifying white spaces across different customer touchpoints and tracking evolving consumer trends, which will be instrumental as we transform our business.”

Here are some common types of aesthetic products:

  • Skincare Products: Including cleansers, moisturizers, serums, and treatments designed to address various skin concerns such as acne, aging, hyperpigmentation, and sensitivity.

  • Cosmetics: Makeup products such as foundations, concealers, eyeliners, lipsticks, and eyeshadows used to enhance facial features and achieve desired looks.

  • Hair Care Products: Shampoos, conditioners, styling products, and treatments to maintain and improve the health and appearance of hair.

  • Fragrances: Perfumes and colognes used to enhance personal scent and attractiveness.

  • Dental Care Products: Toothpaste, mouthwash, whitening treatments, and dental floss aimed at maintaining oral hygiene and enhancing smile aesthetics.

  • Personal Grooming Tools: Including razors, electric shavers, trimmers, and grooming kits used for hair removal and personal hygiene.

  • Beauty Devices: Devices such as facial cleansing brushes, LED light therapy masks, and microcurrent devices designed for at-home skincare treatments.

  • Nutritional Supplements: Supplements aimed at promoting skin health, hair growth, and overall well-being, often containing vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
