THE WHAT? UNESCO and the L’Oréal Foundation have unveiled the winners of this year’s International Prize for Women in Science.

THE DETAILS The five 2022 laureates were selected by an independent jury headed by Professor Brigitte Kieffer and include: Professor Maria Guadalupe Guzman Tirado from Latin America and the Caribbean; Professor Katalin Kariko of North America; for the Asia and the Pacific region, Professor Hailan Hu; Professor Agnes Binagwaho representing Africa and the Arab States, and from Europe, Professor Angela Nieto.

THE WHY? Audrey Azoulay, UNESCO Director-General, commented, “Giving space to women in the science is important for equality which benefits humanity, as demonstrated by the laureates of the L’Oréal-UNESCO Awards for Women in Science. Their example encourages girls and women everywhere to undertake scientific careers.”

  • Nutritional Supplements: Supplements aimed at promoting skin health, hair growth, and overall well-being, often containing vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
