THE WHAT? LG Household and Healthcare is recalling its Babience Only 7 Essential 55 wet tissues for children due to the recent detection of substances of humidifier disinfectants.
THE DETAILS According to Business Korea, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety issued an order to stop selling, recall and discard the product, stating that a mixture of methylchloroisothiazolinone (CMIT) and methylisothiazolinone (MIT) for sterilization and preservation was detected in it.
The substances are prohibited from being used in sanitary products in Korea, such as wet tissues.
THE WHY? A LG H&H official said, “We found that detergent remained after washing work at a production line of the partner company that supplies non-woven fabrics for wet tissues. The detergent was mixed into non-woven fabrics. We sincerely apologize to consumers for this matter.”
