THE WHAT? L’Occitane’s Travel Retail Asia-Pacific division has launched its first sustainability concept store at Sanya International Duty-Free Shopping Complex in Haitang Bay.
THE DETAILS The eco-designed store is constructed from 84 percent eco-certified materials and features environmentally-friendly materials such as fixtures made from bamboo, upcycled flooring and resin table-tops made from recycled glass.
The brand has partnered with China Duty Free Group and TerraCycle China to implement a bottle return programme to encourage good habits, even while travelling.
THE WHY? Estelle de Bure, General Manager of the L’Occitane Group Travel Retail Asia Pacific, explains, “We hope that the launch of our first sustainability concept store in Hainan will prove inspirational for our customers in finding ways to recycle, reduce waste, and promote the biodiversity of the planet.
