THE WHAT? Lush has launched a new campaign, timed to coincide with pollinator week, highlighting the critical role pollinators play in our food supply and eco system and drawing attention to declining populations of these important creatures.
THE DETAILS The ethical cosmetics brand is bringing back its limited-edition Rose Butterfly Bath Bomb as part of the initiative and has pledged to donate 100 percent of profits to the Pollinator Partnership and other organisations working to protect pollinators.
Its also distributing some 140,000 pieces of non-invasive seeded paper cards for customers to plant native flowers and increase pollinator habitat as well as hosting free seed bomb making parties across its North American branches.
THE WHY? Carleen Pickard, at Lush Cosmetics, explains, “We’re launching our campaign during the 2022 Pollinator Week to uplift and support the important work of Pollinator Partnership, at a time when awareness about the impacts of the climate emergency on pollinator populations could not be more critical. Between 75 percent and 95 percent of all flowering plants need pollination, giving us fruits, vegetables and nuts – and these tiny champions need protection.”
